Key Elements of Soka Education

“Only human beings are capable of creating value in pursuit of a higher goal, spontaneously and dynamically. Creativity is the source that enables the individual’s unique qualities to blossom.” (From the speech at the National Educators General Meeting on August 24, 1984)

The Soka schools hold three major events which have become important traditions in the school calendar: the “Day of Glory” which aims to foster individuals who will be able to contribute to a peaceful world, the “Day of Passion” on which culture festivals and sports events are held, and the “Day of Wisdom” which is dedicated to celebrating the schools’ founding spirit.

Extracurricular Activities

After-school club activities are filled with the spirit of building independent character. Alumni play a large role in supporting the schools’ extracurricular activities. As a result, students are able to embody and carry on the traditions left behind by their seniors.
