Kansai Soka Elementary School receives the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award at the National Kakizome (Calligraphy) Work Exhibition Strong performance at the essay competition

The students’ calligraphy works were recently exhibited at the National Kakizome Work Exhibition, where they won awards in both individual and group categories. The works submitted by first and second year students were written in pen, while those submitted by students in the upper grades were written using a special a calligraphy brush.
Fourth year student Ms. Haruna Akashi won the President of Japan Post Holdings Award (the second place prize in the individual category), while 22 other works were selected for special awards and 617 were given prizes. In addition, the school won the “Incentive Award of the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology”, the first place prize in the group category for all schools nationwide.
At the 4th “Kanji Expression Essay Competition” hosted by the Hirakata City Board of Education, three students won prizes and took part in the awards ceremony, during which the first place essay and other outstanding essays were introduced. Fourth year student Mr. Koyo Tsuji and third year student Ms. Hatsuho Nanba, representing the middle-grade student category, proudly read their award-winning works.
