EarthKAM exhibit at the Environmental Festa in Katano (Katano Star Dome)

Kansai Soka Gakuen set up an exhibit about “EarthKAM” at the “Environmental Festa 2012 in Katano”, which was held at the Katano gymnastic facilities (Katano Star Dome). Environmental Festa is an environmental conservation event aimed at all citizens that has been held annually since 2006. The venue for this year’s event was the Star Dome at Katano Ikiiki Land. The purpose of this event is to help promote the importance of preserving and passing down the natural environment to future generations. Environmental Festa is supported by grass-roots activists, local companies and stores, educational organizations such as schools, joint research teams from different industries, members of academia and the government, Osaka Prefecture, and local community associations. The theme of the exhibit set up by students from Kansai Soka Gakuen was “Views of Our Earth as Seen from the Space Station”. This exhibit provided visitors with an easy-to-understand overview of the students’ ISS EarthKAM activities. The students also conducted quiz games to generate greater interest in space studies among the visitors that came to the exhibit.
