Sapporo Soka Kindergarten
August 28, 2012

Thank you, Soka University students!!

The kindergarten had a lot of fun hosting 47 male and female students from Soka University of Japan on August 23 (Thu.) and 24 (Fri.).
On the first day, a general reception was held in the Prince and Princess Hall. Representatives from the junior classes started the meeting by giving a welcome speech, which was followed by a short play that involved all the kids in the junior classes. After the play, boys in the senior class gave a group gymnastics performance that was wonderfully choreographed. The university students responded in turn by performing a delightful play and dance.
On the second day, university students were divided into small groups and spent time meeting with the children in each class. The university students entertained the children by putting on plays and giving paper theater performances. The children were extremely delighted to receive pretty little dolls from the university students, which the students had made themselves. The students and children all ate lunch together, and had a wonderful time riding on the school bus and playing together.
The two fun-filled days flew by, and when the time came to say goodbye, the teary-eyed children were sad to see the university students go, many of whom were also on the brink of tears. The children at the kindergarten are all grateful to the dear university students for the wonderful memories. We look forward to seeing you next year!!
