Brass band club receives award of excellence at national competition

The radiantly colored leaves basked in autumn sunshine greeted the parents and children that came to attend the “Soka Gakuen Friendship Meeting”, a special event for elementary and junior high school students interested in entering Kansai Soka Gakuen. This year approximately 1,000 visitors attended the event. The music clubs from the different schools–including the drum and fife band, sokyoku (Japanese harp) club, Glory Taiko Drum group, Leonard choir, and brass band club–gave performances during both the morning and afternoon sessions. The visitors were also treated to an energetic performance from the dance club. In addition to these performances, students from Kansai Soka Gakuen spoke about the entrance examination and described life at the schools. Following the meeting sessions, the participants took part in the fun EarthKAM quiz contest, observed club activities, viewed various exhibit corners set up around the campus, and took the time to walk through the garden awash in autumn color.
