Sokyoku club wins first place in Tokyo to earn its 12th ticket to the national competition and first appearance in two years

The sokyoku (Japanese harp) club recently took part in the 2012 Tokyo central preliminaries, which were hosted by the Japanese Music Division of the Tokyo Senior High School Cultural Federation. The competition was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Tama Social Education Center in Tachikawa City. The club members came together in perfect harmony for a wonderful rendition of “Quartet for Japanese Harp”, and their outstanding performance won them first place in Tokyo. As a result of this performance, they booked their ticket to the national competition scheduled to be held in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture in August 2013. The school humbly asks everyone to continue cheering on the club as they prepare for next year’s competition.
