Graduation ceremony for the 2016 school year

On March 16, the graduation ceremony for the 2016 school year was held with the attendance of many guests, parents, and first- and second-year students. On that day, everyone enjoyed a brisk blue sky. Prior to the graduation ceremony, the graduation awards ceremony was conducted, during which certificates, memorial gifts, and plaques were presented to student representatives.
In the first part of the graduation ceremony, each student received their graduation certificate, following which the graduating student representatives each from the junior high and senior high schools bravely recited the "Soka Pledge" and the "Pledge for Departure."
In the second part, the schools were connected with Tokyo Soka Gakuen and Kansai Soka Elementary Schools via teleconference, and overseas special awards and Gakuen special awards were presented. Director-General Harada then introduced a message from Founder Daisaku Ikeda. In his message, the founder relayed an original poem, Uchinarase Kibo no Kane wo Kono Hoshi ni Wakaki Soka no Eichi to Yuki de ("Ring the Hope Bell throughout the Earth by the Wisdom and Bravery of Young Soka Students"). He also congratulated the graduating students on their new life by stating, "Make your own flower bloom for happiness and victory. Be yourself freely, like spring flowers." After the founder's message, Minoru Harada, the Supreme Advisor of Soka University, gave a congratulatory message, and to conclude the impressive ceremony, all the Soka students sang Makeji damashii kokoni ari ("Our never-give-up spirit") together.
