New-student welcome meeting

A new-student welcome meeting was held at the gymnasium on Wednesday, April 11. The second- and third-year students formed arches with paper flowers, through which the new students passed to enter the gymnasium. As the new students walked in, the brass band club played music vigorously. Then, a big welcome banner decorated with paper flowers was put on display, reading, “The 51st Class to Enter the School: Congratulations on Your Entrance to Tokyo Soka Junior High School!” Following the banner presentation, the second- and third-year students gave a welcome message, recited the School Precepts, sang one of the school’s favorite songs, Makeji Damashii Kokoni Ari ("Our Never-give-up Spirit"), and presented commemorative gifts (handmade bookmarks). In return, student Kei Takahashi, as a new student representative, delivered a dignified resolution by saying, “We’ll launch a new challenge with pride as the ‘1st Glory Pioneer Class’.” Before the end of the meeting, the school staff was introduced, including the administrative staff, lunchroom staff, and the teachers in charge of school committees and club activities.
