Third-year students grow lettuce and broccoli

Third-year students have been growing lettuce and broccoli during the classes for "Taiju (Stately Tree) Time."
On September 21, they planted the seedlings. Prior to planting, the students learned about the characteristics of lettuce and broccoli, which had them looking forward to cultivation.
One student took a look at the lettuce seedlings and said with surprise, "The leaves are fluffy and already look like lettuce," while another student compared the current stem size of broccoli with that for picking season by saying, "Originally, broccoli has such thin stems." As the students have experience cultivating various vegetables, they have acquired skills for comparisons with other plants and for identifying the differences.
